A Bengaluru-based EV Startup company known as Simple Energy in India is ready to invest approximately 330 Million US Dollars for their next production plant in Dharmapuri, Tamilnadu, a state in India.
A little while back, they’ve launched their first electric scooter named “Simple One” in India that claims to be the longest-range electric scooter in the world.
According to Simple Energy, Simple One have a maximum range of 236 Kilometres per full charge in perfect condition.
And now, after their first successful launch, they announced that they’ve decided to start their second production plant worth 2500 Crores INR ( approximately 330 Million US Dollars) in a district called Dharmapuri in Tamilnadu, India.
They’ve already signed in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamilnadu government.
Based on the data and statistics available, their second EV Scooter production plant will be the world’s largest EV Scooter factory with an expected production capacity of 12.5 million scooters annually by 2023.
“Tamil Nadu gave us the confidence in creating the EV ecosystem which can be sustainable in achieving our long-term goals.
With the MoU, we commit to leading the Indian E2W market in India by setting up a resourceful ecosystem that will help the country’s vision to lower carbon footprints at a faster pace.
“Simple Energy will thus redefine electric mobility in India,” said Suhas Rajkumar, Founder, and CEO of Simple Energy.
Simple Energy has decided to buy 600 acres (242 hectares) for their plant with a testing facility and R&D Center (Research and Development Center).
“The electric vehicle industry is growing in popularity throughout the world. The MoU with Simple Energy is to create a facility that will broaden and deepen the E2W market. We hope that the partnership with Tamil Nadu will help them become a global player, benefiting the local ecosystem.” Said Pooja Kulkarni, IAS, MD & CEO fo Guidance, Tamil Nadu.
Based on their statements, this second phase of Simple Energy will create 12,000 job opportunities ultimately.
Simple Energy is planning to make an initial investment of INR 1000 Crores (132 million USD ) for their second plant and further investments will be added slowly. They’re intending to open and start production by 2023.
Their 600 acres factory will be bigger than Ola Electric Mobility’s 500 acres mega factory.
Glad to feel that soon our world will have an EV ecosystem that reduces CO2 emissions and promote eco-friendly transportation.
