Calls and texts to and from Ukraine will be free for T-Mobile, Verizon, cellular, and AT&T customers
Recently, Four US carriers including T-Mobile and Verizon have announced that they will allow free calls for their customers to get in touch with their relatives in Ukraine. T-Mobile, Verizon, cellular, and AT&T subscribers can call their relatives in Ukraine free of cost. We all know that the situation now in Ukraine is very bad. Even at this time, these US carriers made a lovely decision for their subscribers.
During these challenging times, customers need to stay connected with loved ones in Ukraine. Waiving long-distance charges for customers calling Ukraine will help them focus on what matters: communicating with family and loved ones,” said Manon Brouillette, Executive vice president and CEO of Verizon Consumer Group.
Verizon announced that it will allow all long-distance calls and texts to Ukraine for free. This offer to the subscribers includes business wireless customers and landline phone customers and the offer will last from February 25 through March 10. Additionally, this offer is valid to subscribers in Ukraine. Roaming charges for calls and texting are also being waived for Verizon’s Ukraine customers.
cellular and AT&T has also joined in offering free calls for their subscribers. Their subscribers will also be able to make free calls from the U.S. to Ukraine. US Cellular is offering this free service till March 31 and AT&T is offering this free service till March 7. Some believe that the companies may extend the offer duration. This offer will be applied automatically to their postpaid customers. US cellular’s prepaid customers with international calling plans that call US cellular’s customer support at 611 or 1-888-944-9400 to receive credits for applicable calls.
Other mobile carriers around the globe are also supporting their customers who are affected by Russia’s attack. Vodafone, one of the largest carriers in Europe is also offering free-roaming for any of its customers who are struggling in Ukraine. The offer period started Friday. The offer is valid for the next five days, the company said Friday. Vodafone customers can make free calls and text messages to Ukraine friends and relatives, the company said.
Deutsche Telekom, another large European carrier, is also waiving charges for calls and text messages to Ukraine. “We have no words for what is currently happening in Ukraine,” the company said on Twitter.
Other mobile carrier service providers including BT and O2 in the UK also announced that they will allow free calls and texts to Ukraine for their customers.
