Recently, Misha Rohozhyn, a 19-year-old Ukrainian teenager with down syndrome met his favorite wrestler and actor John Cena. Misha Rohozhyn escaped the war-ravaged nation with his mother, Liana after their home was destroyed by the Russian Invasion.

Misha is unable to speak and he had no idea why his family had to move from the country. To calm him down, his mother told him that they are on a mission to meet John Cena. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Liana kept her son encouraged throughout the journey by telling him they were on their way to see his hero, Cena.”

The former wrestler Jhon Cena heard about the family and their story. He heard that they’re now refugees in Amsterdam.

Cena then decided to take a break from his busy work schedule to meet his fanboy who fled Ukraine. On June 5th, Rohozhyn’s dream turned into reality. Cena met the family at their residence outside Amsterdam.

Professional Wrestling Company WWE shared a video on social media. The video shows how the kind-hearted wrestler surprised his 19-year-old fanboy.

The video was two-minute and 41-second-long, it shows an excited Cena hugging his fanboy and sharing a lovely afternoon with him.

“When I read about Misha’s story it reached out to me, not just Misha’s story, but the story of Misha’s mom as well,” John explained in a video. “[I happened to have] three days off from work right at the time when I read this story, and being an hour away by air, it turned immediately into, ‘We’re going!’ And that means spending afternoon building blocks and eating cake.”

Later, Jhon Cena, 45, tweeted said on Twitter, “It was a ‘wonderful way to spend a Saturday’. “Misha and his mother, Liana, define #NeverGiveUp,” he wrote.

Dressed in his branded shirt and hat emblazoned with his ‘Never Give Up’ catchphrase, Cena told Misha, “I’ve come a long way to see you. I’ve heard many things about you.” Cena surprised Misha with a WWE jersey, hat, and a replica of his WWE title belt.

“Misha’s ability to embrace persistence, that’s extraordinary,” John said. “Those words, Never Give Up, we’ve all thought about those in our life, they’re very powerful. I think Misha’s a great example, and Misha’s mom, they’re two great examples of how persistence can lead to joy, even through the toughest of times.”

It was a heartwarming day. They spend the day playing games, eating cake, and comparing their muscles. They were in a buoyant mood. That day made the long journey from the war-torn country worthwhile.

At the end of the visit, Liana told Cena through a translator, “John, thank you. You have a big heart.”
